GCCHLA MEETING August 7th, 2010

Previous Meeting Acceptance: Previous meeting minutes were accepted.

The meeting was aimed at road maintainence discussion and included the following home and landowners: Rusty Stewart, Kevin Umlauf, Charlie Koopman, Lance & MariJo Crouse, and Charles Roberts.

Discussion

General

  • Amy Karshbaum tendered her resignation as Vice President.
    • Motion: A motion was made to wait until the next meeting to nominate a replacement.The motion passed with all board members in attendance in favor.
  • For those who were unaware, pizza delivery is now available in the Gulch on Fridays and Saturdays through the Helmick's Brooklyn Mining Company.  Call 303-601-2348 for more information.
  • Due to the move of the annual meeting to June this year (in an effort to get more up-front road donations), board elections are not currently planned for the  November  meeting.
    • Motion: A motion was made to wait on a board elections until next June (the new planned annual meeting date).The motion passed with all board members in attendance in favor (and with the understanding that this decision could be revisited if anyone feels that a sooner election is warranted).
Roads
  • John Bottomley is heading up the Road Committee charged with determining what is and is not possible with regards to road improvements this year with the available funding.
  • An initial road survey was held on August 11th.
  • A follow-up survey is planned for Sunday August 12th (and occurred).
  • While we have available in the Gulch, much of the equipment needed for road improvements, we are lacking a dump truck and a water truck.
  • There was a general consensus that it would be irresponsible to attempt grading on many of the roads in the York Gulch area without bringing in road base.
  • Motion: A motion was made to spend $3500.00 on road improvements this year commencing over the next six weeks and being organized by John Bottomley.
    • The motion carried with all board members in attendance in favor with the exception of Sergio who opposed the measure.
  • There was discussion on the
  • Charlie Koopman indicated that it was his understanding that when the York Gulch area was being developed that agreements had been made with the county commissioners in support of the roads.  He will look into past history and rulings by the county with regards to the roads to see if there anything that may be pursuedto help out with the improvement of the roads.
